Kate Shelest, RN BSN MAIH GAHN Scholar
Founder – Creator, The Conscious Nurse Project©
My education and experiences with consciousness and subtle energy over the past 13 years has opened my mind to an integral, holistic approach to health. The outcomes experienced by my clients go beyond purely allopathic processes. An integrally, inclusive perspective provides resources for healing physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
With 40 years of experience in healthcare and her client-centered focus, Kate helps her clients find the tools to empower them on their journey. Her West Coast private practice supports clients to integrate holistic modalities into their health care regimes. With a strong interest in biofield science, and focussed on research based practice, her intention is to introduce nurses and other health professionals to individualized, holistic self-care practices through The Conscious Nurse Project ©.

Linda Yetman, RN PG-NS BN MEd ACNP (Dip) PhD CCP
Co-Creator, The Conscious Nurse Project©
I am a Registered Nurse with 50 years of healthcare experience, and my journey into psychotherapy and coaching started at the bedside. I spent most of my nursing career in neuroscience nursing, caring for patients and families dealing with neurotrauma—some of the most significant disruptions a person can face.
I am honoured to collaborate with my friend and colleague, Kate, in The Conscious Nurse Project©. If you’re a nurse looking for support in facing challenges at any point in your life’s journey, I would be honoured to support you on that path through this program.
Watching how individuals cope with sudden, life-altering events taught me something essential: healing isn’t just about the body. It’s about finding meaning in our experiences, adapting, and learning to nurture ourselves through transitions. That understanding has become the foundation of my private practice.
Today, I combine psychotherapy, coaching, and my clinical expertise to help my clients navigate life’s transitions holistically. I draw on my studies of multiple therapeutic disciplines—solution-focused work, depth psychology, narrative coaching, dream work, compassionate inquiry, Focusing, and health coaching—because meaningful change often requires exploring various pathways to healing. Whether I work with individuals or small groups, my focus is on supporting clients in developing sustainable self-nurturing practices, building resilience, and reclaiming their energy and well-being.
I have a strong curiosity about life and experiences—I’m a lifelong learner with many interests, and that spirit of exploration guides my work. When I’m not practicing, you’ll find me on the East Coast of Canada with my partner, cooking for loved ones, and enjoying the outdoors. Despite traveling to many beautiful places, nothing compares to my home province of Newfoundland & Labrador, which I return to whenever I can.
“The way we tell our life story is the way we begin to live our life.”
— Maureen Murdock, The Heroine’s Journey
